In the Catholic tradition, responsible citizenship is a virtue; participation in the political process is a moral obligation. All believers are called to faithful citizenship, to become informed, active, and responsible participants in the political process. ---USCCB Statement, Faithful Citizenship: Civic Responsibility for a New Millennium (2000)

About Us

Ever had the feeling that Catholics are considered fair game in today's society? Our nation was founded on fundamental principles including freedom of religion not freedom from religion. Today's increasingly secular, anti-Christian culture makes it ever more difficult for faithful Catholics to find and support public policy consistent with the core doctrines of our Church.

We're Informed Catholic Citizens (ICC), a grassroots organization who wants to see Catholics and our Church treated fairly - by government, politicians, the media, and society in general. The best way for Catholics to faithfully live their faith is to be truthfully informed about the positions of candidates and elected officials on the five non-negotiable doctrines of the Church: abortion, euthanasia, homosexual marriage, embryonic stem cell research, and human cloning.

Clever politicians often craft their words to imply support for Catholic doctrine while disguising a voting record opposed to our principles. So many Catholics say they struggle to find accurate, honest information about the candidates - even ones who claim to be Catholic - and the truth about where they stand on issues critical to them and consistent with the Church. That's why ICC was formed.

Our purpose at ICC is not to make your voting decision, but to assist you in finding the truth about the candidates and information necessary to make an educated choice consistent with Catholic doctrine. Through periodic email distributions and our website, you will have truthful information consistent with Catholic doctrine.
